[Canceled] Outreach at the Museum

When

Saturday, February 12, 2022
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Event Type

Unfortunately, we just found out that tonight’s event at the museum has been unexpectantly canceled. There are still plans for next month.  The museum  posted an announcement on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SBCMuseum/

Remember, there is a museum fee for the general public.

We will set up on the far west side of the museum building where there is excellent road access, nearby parking, and a good place to set up our scopes with a wide view of the sky.  The event is scheduled from 7:00 to 10:00 pm and there will be other astronomy-related activities going on in the museum that those folks will be doing.  We’ll have Uranus and the moon to observe along with all the winter wonders like the Orion Nebula.  Setup time is around 6:30 pm.

***> If everyone could print out some of the ‘Planetary Distances Charts’ (attached to the E-Mail Announcement) to hand out to interested visitors that would be great. 🙂

Planning on being there. I’ll bring either the 8″ Newtonian or 11″ Celetron. I will also give the Moon projector another try.
