As with all star parties, please observe standard star party etiquette. Some tips: try to arrive and set up before dark; use no white light – use red filtered flashlights wherever possible – minimize white light from the auto door and dome lights; if you arrive late or plan to leave early, take care to approach and park so your headlights or backup lights do not shine on other participants; if you leave early or must use white light, first give a warning so observers or astrophotographers can compensate; please ask before handling other participant’s telescope equipment. Most importantly, be prepared to relax and enjoy good company under the night sky.

Hello everyone, my name is Sue. I spoke with Gerald about coming out tonight. I’m not a member yet, nor do I have any equipment. I do have a Camera and Tripod and was able to get some great pictures ( great to me lol) of Neowise. Ever since then, I’ve been chasing the night sky to find more. I want to learn more and hopefully get some information about equipment to make my first purchase (eventually). I hope to come out and meet everyone if the weather cooperates!
Unfortunately I don’t think the weather will cooperate. It it doesn’t rain, it looks to be cloudy.
Sue, come and join us at our next meeting, and we can answer your questions and discuss equipment. Like Gerald said, tonight’s weather in Oak Glen will be cloudy.

Next star party correct?
You’re welcome at the meeting on 5/18, and also the star party. June’s star party is at two locations on 6/8/24: a private address in Banning (talk to Tom Lawson here if interested), and another at a very dark sky site in the mountains above Bishop, CA. Next star party after that is July 6th, Pioneertown.
