On Thursday, October 15, we have an outreach at Leland Norton elementary school in San Bernardino.  Setup from 5:30-6:15pm.  Event from 6:30-8:00pm.

The SBVAA will have a Lunar Eclipse Public Outreach this coming Sunday, September 27th, 2015 at The Wildlands Conservancy Oak Glen Preserve.
Come on out for a night of fun under the stars.
The moon will rise in eclipse so we will get to see from mid-eclipse to end.

Due to questionable weather, the Birney School Outreach has been moved to this Thursday, Sept. 24 still at 7:00pm.

On Friday, Sept. 18 at 7:00pm we will have an outreach at Amethyst Bible Church in Mentone.  Please SignUp on the events page if you plan to attend.

Saturday, Sept. 19 at 7:00pm is our regular monthly meeting.  There is sure to be a Grandview wrap-up from those that went.

Our second star party to Grandview in the White Mountains near Big Pine, CA is coming up the weekend of September 11-13.  The star party will take place at the Grandview campground.  Check the upcoming event’s link for the details and to SignUp letting us know that you are coming.

As in years past, we don’t have a regular club meeting in August, instead we have a social get-together. On Saturday, August 22, we’ll meet at Pico Park in Grand Terrace. This is the same park we set up at for the Transit of Venus in 2012. Set up will begin about 4:00 pm and eating will commence after 5:00 pm. Our reservation ends at 8:00 p.m. Bring any kind of food you like, and everyone usually shares what they have. If you can’t bring food, we always need napkins, plastic ware, paper plates and beverages too.

With the recent closure of the Highland Coco’s Restaurant (and others), the pre-meeting dinner restaurant has been changed to Denny’s in Highland on the corner of Highland Ave and Valencia Ave.  This will take effect the next meeting, April 25th.

The transit of Venus occurred on on June 5, 2012. SBVAA held a small “unofficial” party at Richard Rollins Park in Grand Terrance. The next transit will not occur until 2117.
